Please comment how your day went on that page. Cheers, Geoff
Okuaizu (deep Aizu) in western Fukushima-ken, Honshu is a remote, mountainous area of Japan. I moved here to learn from this very strong and warm - though ageing - community with unbroken roots going back to hunter gatherers. I also hoped that my young son could grow up learning things that are rapidly being destroyed by rapacious competition and narrow individualism in post-industrial England. At the end of August 2011, after 2 1/2 years, we reluctantly left due to concerns for the long-term health of my son, 6 months after the nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daichi, and a flood in July.
Please explore this amazing community through the themes below. As with anywhere near or in Fukushima prefecture, before visiting the area please research risk for yourself using both official and independent sources, particularly if you have children.
